Ninegrid Privacy Policy
How the Ninegrid: Sudoku app for Android handles your information.
Effective 15 October 2026
The short version
Your game data stays on this phone. Nothing is uploaded to our servers, because we have none. Ninegrid has no accounts and no sign-in. The free version shows ads through Google's AdMob, which is the only part of the app that involves data leaving your phone, and you can control that in the app's privacy settings. Ninegrid Pro removes ads and does not request any ads, though Google's consent tool may still check your privacy choices.
What this policy covers
This policy explains how 2CSOLUTION (ABN 59 706 612 171), an Australian business, handles information in the Ninegrid: Sudoku app for Android (package name com.ninegrid.sudoku). In this policy, "we" and "us" mean 2CSOLUTION, and "Ninegrid" or "the app" means that app. You can contact us at info@2csolution.com.au.
Our website has its own Website Privacy Policy. This policy is only about the app.
Information stored on your phone
Ninegrid keeps your game data on your phone only: your puzzle progress, statistics, streaks, Daily Challenge results, hint usage, settings, and whether you own Ninegrid Pro. We cannot see this data. We do not collect it, and it is not sent to us.
No accounts, no analytics
Ninegrid has no accounts, no sign-in and no servers of ours. We do not include analytics or crash-reporting software of our own, so we do not receive reports about how you use the app or about app crashes.
Advertising (free version)
The free version of Ninegrid shows ads using the Google Mobile Ads SDK (AdMob), a Google service. It shows banner ads, full-screen ads between games, and rewarded ads that you choose to watch for an in-game benefit.
To show and measure ads, Google may collect information from your phone, including your Advertising ID (the app declares the Android AD_ID permission for this), device and app information, your IP address, and how you interact with ads. Google uses this information under its own policies, which you can read in Google's Privacy Policy and in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services. We do not receive this information in a form that identifies you.
If you own Ninegrid Pro, the app shows no ads and does not request any ads. Google's consent tool may still check your privacy choices so Privacy preferences keep working.
Your choices about ads
Where the law requires it (for example in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, and in US states configured in AdMob), the app asks for your consent before showing personalised ads, using Google's User Messaging Platform. You can change your choice at any time in the app: open Me → Privacy → Privacy preferences.
You can also limit ad personalisation or reset or delete your Advertising ID in your phone's Google settings.
Ninegrid Pro purchases
Ninegrid Pro is a one-time purchase made through Google Play Billing. Google Play handles the payment and your payment details. We do not receive your payment details; the app only receives confirmation that Ninegrid Pro is owned on your Google account. Refunds follow Google Play's refund policies. See our Ninegrid Terms of Service for the purchase terms.
Backups
Ninegrid allows Android's standard app backup. Depending on your phone's settings, Android may back up the app's game data to your Google account as part of your device backup. That backup is managed by Google and controlled in your phone's settings, not by us. Nothing is backed up to 2CSOLUTION.
Notifications
Ninegrid can show optional local reminders: a daily reminder and a Daily Challenge heads-up. They are off until you turn them on. They are scheduled on your phone; there is no push server and nothing is sent to us. To keep reminders working after your phone restarts, the app uses the "run at startup" permission only to reschedule them.
Permissions the app uses
- Internet and network state: to load ads and to talk to Google Play for purchases.
- Advertising ID (AD_ID): used by the Google Mobile Ads SDK in the free version.
- Notifications: for the optional reminders above.
- Run at startup (receive boot completed): only to reschedule reminders you have turned on.
- Google Play Billing (com.android.vending.BILLING): to buy and restore Ninegrid Pro.
- Android ad services (ACCESS_ADSERVICES_AD_ID, ACCESS_ADSERVICES_ATTRIBUTION, ACCESS_ADSERVICES_TOPICS): added by the Google Mobile Ads SDK for Android's Privacy Sandbox ad features, used in the free version.
- Wake lock and foreground service: added by Android system libraries the app uses for background scheduling.
Children
Ninegrid is a general-audience app and is not directed to children. On Google Play its target audience is 13 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and the app has no way to do so.
Deleting your data
In the app, open Me → Privacy → Delete my data and progress. This removes your progress, statistics and settings from the phone; your Ninegrid Pro ownership is kept because it is tied to your Google Play purchase. Uninstalling the app or clearing its storage in Android settings also removes the data from the phone. For anything else, email us at info@2csolution.com.au.
What we do not do
We do not sell personal information. We do not use your data for advertising ourselves. We do not track you across other apps or websites.
Where data is processed
Google processes advertising, purchase and backup data under its own policies, and that processing may happen outside Australia. We process nothing, because nothing is sent to us, apart from emails you choose to send.
Questions & complaints
Email us at info@2csolution.com.au. We aim to reply within 30 days. If you have a complaint about how we have handled your personal information, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it. You can also contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
Changes to this policy
We update this page when the app's practices change, and the effective date changes with it.
